S50 S52 M50 M52 M54 Water Pump Block Off Plate
The S50, S52, M50, M52, and M54 engines have always had cooling management issues: typically once these engines overheat, there is a high chance of head gasket failure or cracking of the cylinder head. In extreme environments, like the race track that you commonly see these engines used in, it becomes very difficult to keep the coolant at steady temperatures due to cavitation when there is prolonged runs above 5000 RPM. One way to more easily manage coolant temps and prevent cavitation is to convert the engine to an electric water pump system. It is machined from 6061 aluminum and then glass bead blasted for a uniform finish.
This plate deletes the factory mechanical water pump and allows proper flow through the coolant passages. *You will need to purchase a shorter belt to accommodate the water pump pulley being deleted.*
